The Scourtin Museum
In 2007, Frédérique and Arnaud Fert succeeded their father Alain.
In 2013, they decided to create a museum that traces the family history, the twists and turns, and the evolution of Scourtin manufacturing over 140 years and five generations.
The museum was inaugurated by Pierre Combes, Mayor of Nyons, in July 2013. It was designed by Myriam & Lionel Baillemont in collaboration with Frédérique and Arnaud Fert.
The museum is open for free access during the same hours as the shop:
From Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM (6:30 PM in summer).
You will find on display presses, prototypes and patents for machines invented by the Fert family, as well as archives and other unusual objects that will satisfy your curiosity.
From silk weaving to coconut weaving, discover the family saga, the origins of the Scourtins, and their evolution through the generations.

The museum explains the choice and origin of coconut fiber, the creation and development of the Scourtin weaving machines by Ferdinand Fert, as well as the arrival of hydraulic presses that revolutionized the use of the Scourtin.
